Post holiday inertia

Good morning. I am in the grips of post-holiday inertia.

There were gifts. There was food. There were parties. There was a gig. Many pictures were taken. They are sitting in a folder on our computer, and I cast morose looks at them when I pass by. There they are, the little buggers. Wanting my attention. Wanting some Photoshop. Why can’t they grow up, become independent, and Photoshop themselves?!?!? Is that too much to ask???

So needy, I’m telling you.

And now . . . it’s January. I don’t seem to have anything to say.

Hello in there? Hello? *knocking on skull*

Hmmmm, I’m hearing a strange echoing sound. It looks like I may have forgotten my brain somewhere.

It’s probably sitting in some fridge somewhere in Indiana next to a half-eaten plate of ham. If you come across it, please send it to me by UPS–though send it to my work address since boxes tend to get stolen from our apartment.

At some point I will have to assemble some kind of thoughts into some kind of something.

A batch of cookies might help get things rolling.

  • The week after Christmas is always the worst. I feel like I should be sleeping, and every year I kick myself for not taking this week off. Oh well, it's only temporary. I think a batch of cookies will help a lot.

  • Jenna, perhaps your brain went on vacation with mine to ease its way into the new year? Or perhaps it's just waiting for you to make some cookies.

  • A batch of cookies sounds like a fantastic idea. I'm having a hard time getting motivated also. I made myself turn off the computer, cell phone, tv, etc to focus on getting the Christmas tree & decorations put away. It was horrible. Lol.

  • Definitely a malaise in the new year when in comes to blogging, I agree. I suppose if I drank the champagne we were supposed to have on NYE [but I fell asleep :D] I could kickstart a half-coherent post.

Tho' cookies are not a bad idea either - goodness knows I still have a bunch of those lying around.

Your pictures are gorgeous. I would just keep posting awesome pictures.

    • Yes! The word 'malaise' really sums it up. I think I might make some spiced wine tonight to help me along the way.

  • Your photos are outstanding! Wish you could come over and help me out with my photography!

  • Good grief, Jenna, I am so there. And I'm really glad I'm not the only one who's been dreading processing photos...ugh. I just want to simultaneously eat cinnamon rolls and vegetables for the rest of my life. It's a really confusing existence.

When, oh, when shall we be normal humans again?
