In her dad’s arms

DSC_0092

One of the things that just gets me like a punch in the heart (a good punch . . . if you know what I mean) is seeing my husband comfort his daughter . . . our daughter.

When he tries to calm her down it definitely takes more work. I can just resort to nursing her for a “quick fix,” but he has to patiently rock her, sing to her, and hold her close until the crying subsides and her little heart is finally comforted. These pictures are from well over a month ago (and Alice has already changed so much!), but I wanted to share them because they’re my two favorite people in the world and I just can’t get enough of them.

This motherhood thing–it makes my heart so full it hurts.

I wish! No, he was probably doing the dishes (which is–don’t get me wrong–also awesome =).

    Adorable!

The pictures with her sucking her thumb are priceless. SO cute. Also – you might have a lefty on your hands. I know it’s probably too early to tell, but she’s sucking that left thumb, so my money’s on a southpaw!
