From the recesses of the freezer . . .

Guess what my husband had for dessert the other night?

He’s been steadily consuming these for quite a long time . . .

Yep, it’s those delicous No-Bake Peanut Butter Cup Bars.

And yes, these would be the ones I posted about in May but made in April–the self-same batch.

Remember how I said that they keep forever in the freezer, and they’re great because dessert is always on hand?

Well, I spoke the truth. These are no worse for the wear.

They even survived the freezer purging that my husband did last month (with the strict provision that he would have a 100% free hand and that I would not interfere–I was more than glad to comply). Check out our current situation!

So much better than the many months of battling for ice cream space, chronicled here and here

If you haven’t made these delightful bars, I highly recommend them.

When there’s no fresh dessert around and someone gets a sweet tooth attack, these could very possibly save the day.

I love keeping baked goods on hand in the freezer for emergencies. However, I almost never have “emergencies” unless you count PMS. 😉 FYI, almost every baked good can be frozen with success, esp cookies and brownies. (I froze almost every single thing I baked for the fair!)

wait… HOW in the world did those last that long? we finished a batch in about 3 wks, tops. by ourselves. and i made a variation a week ago and they are almost gone. but truth be told, batch #2 was only 12 made in muffin cups so that’s why.

I’ve been asking myself the same question–I think it all comes down to the fact that (most of the time) I don’t have a sweet tooth in the evenings. I would always choose popcorn for dessert rather than a sweet treat. So I didn’t exactly help my dear husband consume them.

Ah yes, the sweet tooth attack…but husband just had one last night, and was forlorn that we’d run out of freezer cookies. Guess I’ll have to make these bars…with SunButter of course! 🙂
