Grabby McGrabberton

And the first pictures I’m bringing forth from our Alaska vacay: James! My 7 month old nephew. The one with the fuzzy head. The one with the big old cheeks.

The one with the fattiest, most delightful little baby thighs I have ever seen, squished, or kissed.

This isn’t the first time that fat baby thighs have distracted me from blogging about larger events . . . as I recall, a pair of marshmallow legs at Joe and Steph’s wedding produced the identical effect. What can I say–I guess I’m predictable that way.

I’m having trouble imagining I could ever love a child as much as I love this one. Even if I give birth to a baby from my own loins, sustain its fragile life with food from my own body, name it ‘Fatty Lumpkin,’ and it has thighs so wonderfully big that they could roll down a baby-sized highway, right now I doubt it could ever be as lovable. As cute. As grabbable . . . or as grabbing-crazed. So here is a little series entitled ‘Grabby McGrabberton.’ The alternate title–from the perspective of my terrified camera–is ‘Death Claw Alert–Save Ye He Who May.’

Oh that little James. He’s a cure-all for the Monday blues.

Awwwwwwwwwww… he’s so cuuuute!!! (Love those “toofers.”) I’m so glad you got your James fix, Jenna. Someday when he’s older, you can tell him about his fan club of swooning women worldwide. 🙂

Just saw the TK blog post from Friday. About halfway through I thought to myself, “This gooey green bread looks really familiar.” 🙂 So, now I’m definitely making the basil garlic bread for our CG dinner this week.

Also, James is absolutely adorable! After seeing these pictures, I completely understand where you’re coming from with being afraid you wouldn’t be able to love another child more. Between the auntie connection and the fact that he’s just fantastically cute, that’s one mega onslaught of emotions.

PS- Glad you’re back. Robot Jenna was nice and all, but you were sorely missed. 🙂

Jenna, this may be my favorite post to date… and that’s saying a lot 🙂
You’ve captured James’ wonderful little self so well. Thanks for taking these!

    What a sweetie, sweetie, sweetie-boy! I love the one of him with his open mouth – “almost . . . there . . . I think I can get it . . . . victory . . will . . . be . . . MINE.”

He is extremely adorable….. I found his little smile has the same effect on Tuesday-blues as it does on the Monday ones. He makes me smile back.

He is just adorable!! The thing about having your own kids, apparently, is that no matter what your kid looks like, you’ll still think he/she’s the cutest thing on earth. So not to fear, even if your kid has skinny thighs, you will still die for them. 🙂
