Shrork

I just wanted to give you a glimpse of the laundry situation that we experienced a couple months ago, over the weekend of my 28th birthday.

No, we didn’t remove all the laundry from the baskets and just pile it on top for dramatic effect. There is laundry in the baskets and on top of the baskets.

I’ve christened the pile ‘Shrork’. It’s a name that fits his monstrous persona, don’t you think?

And using this ploy, I have an announcement to make–we are not moving!

We are not passing ‘Go,’ we are not collecting $200.

Yes, I’m aware that I didn’t say that we were thinking about moving. . . but now you know the whole story. That we were thinking of moving–and that we’re not moving. You’re just getting the whole package at once.

You can thank me later for withholding this information since suspense can cause high stress levels, and if there’s one thing I’m not here to do, it’s to add stress to your life.

One day I still hope to have in-building laundry so that I don’t have to lug my dirty undies all over creation. However, though that day has not come yet . . .

. . . it’s still gonna be okay. Right? Shrork?

Hoping the not moving is the right decision for you guys 🙂
Those piles look awfully familiar… maybe Shrork travels!

Don’t worry, I totally got you the first time! And yes, I’m glad. #1, moving is a pain. #2, I really do love our apartment and #3, can manage to gloss over its many flaws as long as I hang loose (for the record: rattling windows, paint splatters on mirrors and windows, a broiler that can’t fully open due to a pipe coming out of the floor, a gross linoleum kitchen floor, etc.). #4, I love the location by the beach, El stop, library, and grocery store, #5 I love the size of the place, and it really has served us so well for 2 years.
Did I mention the price is also right? =)

Man, that looks like the piles of laundry in my house. We have a few of those floor to ceiling piles. Biggest problem? If any of it falls on the floor there is a certain dog that is more than happy to pee on it for me. And she might’ve recruited a cat for help, but I can’t be sure as I’ve only seen the cat pee on towels in the bathroom that have fallen from time to time. Oy vey.

And Jenna, may I suggest you take all that money you’re saving by not moving and getting one of those laundry pick up and delivery services? I’ve never used one since I live in Tulsa, but I hear they are amazing.

crazy! i don’t know what i would do without my own washer & dryer. i do laundry almost everyday. guess i am not a city girl! but it sounds like you have a great apartment so can’t win ’em all!

Are you sure that the chance of getting a pair of de-Shrorking machines wouldn’t affect your decision to not move?? The chance to do your laundry in your own place with your own machines???? BTW, I just ordered a washer and dryer, to be delivered to Woodlands since we will be in Spain when they are shipped…

Well, you are indeed a brave woman who handily keeps Shrork from masterminding our life. Carry on!! luv schmuv

It’s almost like you took a picture of my laundry pile…although I’m only one person and you guys are two. Not good.

thanks for not stressing me. I worry about you, you know! And that might have been too much for me to handle.
